Select Board opts out of recreational marijuana delivery
Board of Selectmen · Meeting of June 9, 2026
Middleton Select Board elects new chair, opts out of pot delivery. The board unanimously elected Costa Patakis chair and Deb Carbone clerk at its first meeting since the annual town election, then voted 5-0 to opt out of recreational marijuana home delivery for two years, rejecting an appeal from cannabis industry professional Eric Rodgers, who called the license "extremely regulated." The board authorized Town Administrator Justin Schultzback to negotiate an $800,000 sale of the former police station to residents Chike and Stefana Udom for a proposed daycare center. Members swore in new officer Andrew Mack, bringing the police department to full staffing, and ratified a three-year contract with the International Association of Firefighters Local 3097 carrying 2.5 percent annual raises through fiscal 2029.
The roughly $61 million to $62 million municipal complex project remains about $4,350,000 under budget.
