Middleton Planning Board Elects Burnham Chair, Backs Maple Street Auto-Body Site Plan

MIDDLETON — June 10, 2026 — Middleton Planning Board reorganizes, seats two new members, and advances 227 Maple Street site plan. The board unanimously elected Jason Burnham as chair and a member identified as Shad as vice chair at its June 10 meeting, with newly seated member Kyle Smith also confirmed as clerk. The board endorsed an approval-not-required lot-line change between abutting Liberty Street properties owned by David O'Brien and neighbors Ronnie and Robin LaGrasse, who agreed to a mutual boundary adjustment to resolve a shed encroachment. The board then voted unanimously to send a positive recommendation to the Zoning Board of Appeals on a revised site plan for 227 Maple Street, a mixed-use property with an auto-body business and a planned restaurant tenant, after staff outlined changes the applicant made since withdrawing an earlier version — including a one-way Maple Street entrance, 37 total parking spaces, ADA-accessible spaces, and a dumpster enclosure — though a board member flagged fluid-contamination concerns from vehicle storage near an adjacent daycare playground, a concern staff committed to forward to the ZBA ahead of its June 25 hearing.
