Zoning Board Delays Vote on Maple Street Site Plan
Zoning Board · Meeting of May 28, 2026
Middleton's Zoning Board of Appeals continued a site plan hearing for 227 Maple and 0 Gregory streets to June 25, citing missing dimensions and traffic confusion. Acting Chairperson Carolyn Damato-MacPherson appointed alternate Anthony Mirabito as a voting member after Chair Richard Benevento was absent. Planning Director Anna Bury Carmer flagged undersized parking spaces and a narrowed drive aisle near Building B, questioning whether emergency vehicles could still turn safely.
Attorney Robert Cornetta and designer James DiBurro, representing owners Donna Johnson and Paula Johnson, proposed cutting parking from 42 to 40 spaces and rebuilding the ADA ramp. Gregory Street neighbors Mary and Dennis O'Brien asked for a speed bump, saying "my dream would be if there was like a speed lump or hump." The minutes-approval vote passed 3-0 with one abstention.
