ZBA endorses Boston Street lotting plan, delays two hearings
Zoning Board · Meeting of June 25, 2026
Middleton ZBA endorses a 40B lotting plan, extends a housing permit deadline, and sends an auto body site plan back for more detail. The board unanimously endorsed the final lotting plan for Vilbridge Acquisitions' 10-18 Boston Street and 49 South Main Street project, clearing the way to record the subdivision; applicant Lars Unhjem said site work could begin in August. Members also granted a 60-day extension, to September 30, on the decision deadline for a roughly 200-unit comprehensive permit at 35 Village Road, after a resident raised concerns about construction noise and dust.
The board's toughest exchange came over a modified site plan at 227 Maple Street and 0 Gregory Street, where Chairperson Richard Benevento said "it's not fair to the members here to be voting on something that we don't have all the information for," and member Craig Hartwell proposed barring "storage of hazardous materials... including damaged or crashed vehicles leaking fluid." Attorney Robert Cornetta pushed back, citing a January 16 inquiry to town staff. The board continued both the Village Road and Maple Street hearings to July 23.
