Middleton's Zoning Board of Appeals continued a 200-unit Village Road housing hearing to March 26 after water-supply objections, while approving two smaller permits. Attorney John Smolak of Smolak and Vaughan, representing Ferncroft Apartments LLC, said peer reviews of traffic and stormwater impacts were funded and underway, and that Danvers and Middleton officials were scoping a water and sewer capacity review. The Ipswich River Watershed Association's letter warned the project sits in a "highly stressed" basin and urged conditions to offset 100 percent of water use.
The board separately approved a 900-square-foot ADU for Jitesh Gandhi at 22 Old Haswell Park Road and a special permit for Jay Jaroz to replace a roughly 500-square-foot camp at 7 Jordan Lane with a 1,400-square-foot home. Staff also previewed a zoning bylaw rewrite consolidating special permit review under the ZBA.
