Library Board Backs $160,000 Generator Relocation

Library Board · Meeting of February 9, 2026

Middleton library trustees weigh $160,000 to relocate town generator. The Flint Public Library Board of Trustees reviewed a $185,200 fiscal 2027 capital request Monday, dominated by a $160,000 plan to move the town's soon-to-be-surplus fire department generator onto library grounds after officials determined a new unit would cost roughly $650,000. Acting Library Director Jackie proposed funding $25,200 of related electrical and masonry work from the Emerson and B.F.

Emerson trust funds, with the balance from town capital funds. Trustees also questioned why $265,000 held by the Friends of the Flint Public Library building fund lacks documented spending restrictions, and pressed on a "strong-arm" cost increase from the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium, whose executive director, Patty DiPulio, will address trustees in March. The board unanimously approved revised patron registration and Library of Things borrowing policies, plus several superseded-policy deletions.
