Select Board · Meeting of July 8, 2026

Middleton Select Board approves ownership transfer at Rizzo's Common Vic, with beer and wine service on hold. The board voted 3-0 Tuesday to transfer the restaurant's Common Vic license to S.A. Sayani Inc., with Arsh Singh named as the principal working partner.

Singh, who currently operates seven restaurants in Lowell, New Hampshire, and Tewksbury, told the board the new ownership plans to keep Rizzo's name, menu, and staff structure intact, with current owner George expected to remain on site for up to a month during the transition; a closing is planned for July 15. Beer and wine service will be suspended pending a separate ABCC licensing process, with Town Counsel Jackie advising the board that Singh's application would be treated as a transfer, rather than a new license, only if filed within roughly 60 days of the sale date. The board also voted 3-0 to approve fiscal year 2026 year-end budget transfers, with Town Administrator Justin cautioning that utility cost projections for the new municipal building will remain unreliable for at least another full year due to ongoing system-balancing work and an incomplete heating cost baseline.
